The Process
We want you to feel comfortable with the process so here we'll give you a brief idea of what to expect at various stages along the way.
First Contact
Whether in-person, by email or telephone, we begin by answering any questions you may have. We understand that you may be calling simply to gain information and we're happy to take your call whether you're looking to start a project or not. Don't worry; we don't like high-pressure sales tactics any more than you do. If you decide you would indeed like us to set up a powerful DNN site, we'll move on to the next step.
Formalized Quote
Once we decide to go forward we'll begin by discussing your needs. The three most important elements of this stage are communication, communication, and communication. We will find out what features you need. We will look at your current website (if applicable) and discuss what you like or don't like about it. We will discuss the look & feel that you want to achieve. We will think about how you want your visitors to use your site and develop a site plan. We may look at existing websites that suit your style, be it corporate, youthful, edgy, light, dark, colorful, etc. and discuss other likes or dislikes and layout options such as menu style. Don't worry if we ask you questions that you don't know the answer to - We'll help you figure everything out. Once we understand your needs in full we will present you with a formal quote.
Contract to Begin
If the quote is agreeable, we will fax you a contract. The contract details what we will be doing, the total costs and when they are due and generally serves as a wonderful peace of mind for both of us that we did indeed properly communicate. Typically, we only ask for 25% of the total fee to be paid at this stage of development. We will then work with you to finalize a design layout (the 'look' of the site) at which point another 25% will be paid as we move on to the next stage which is implementing the design into a functioning website. After we present the functioning site another 25% is due and then the website will be transferred to your web host. After the site is deployed on your web host, the remaining 25% will be due.
